TRUCK DRIVER (CDL CLASS A)

We are looking for a Truck Driver to move materials to and from our facilities in Pine Creek, PA. You will keep our plants supplied and our shipments moving. You will also make sure every load arrives safely, securely, and undamaged.

Our ideal candidate is a safe, dependable CDL driver who takes pride in their truck and pays close attention to detail.

THIS ROLE IS FOR YOU, IF YOU ARE:

• Safety-minded: You follow safe work practices on the road and in the yard, and you never cut corners on inspections.
• Detail oriented: You check every load against the paperwork and keep your logs accurate.
• Hands-on: You can handle routine truck maintenance and you are comfortable loading, securing, and unloading materials.
• Dependable: You stay in contact with your supervisor, follow delivery instructions, and get the job done.
• A team player: You work closely with production, shipping, and your supervisor to keep materials moving between plants.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Drive safely. Transport materials to and from assigned destinations while following all state and federal traffic laws and regulations.
• Inspect your truck. Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and forms, and report any mechanical or safety problems beyond routine repair to management.
• Keep the truck road-ready. Handle routine maintenance such as light bulbs, tire chains, spark plugs, fuel, oil, coolant, and dry gas. Make sure preventive maintenance is done when needed, and fuel the truck when you return.
• Load and secure cargo. Load and unload using the right equipment, which may include a crane or forklift. Pad, stack, block, chain, and strap items so they arrive without damage.
• Handle the paperwork. Check loads against shipping papers, keep your log as required by state and federal rules, and prepare receipts for internal load transportation.
• Stay connected. Stay in phone or radio contact with your supervisor for delivery instructions.
• Take pride in your truck. Keep the cab and side boxes clean, organized, and presentable.

WE NEED SOMEONE WITH

• A valid CDL, Class A
• A valid DOT medical card
• The ability to pass the FMCSA driver qualification requirements
• A strong commitment to safety and attention to detail
• The ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds, and larger amounts with help
• Comfort working in warehouse and fabrication shop settings (dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and noise) and some outdoor weather
• Willingness to wear required PPE: gloves, safety glasses, ear protection, and steel-toed boots

Additional skills that could make you a stronger candidate:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Crane and/or forklift experience
• Experience hauling steel or fabricated materials
