Job Description
Develops and improves manufacturing processes by studying product design, researching equipment/tooling capabilities, and reviewing manufacturing methods and Miller Fabrication Solutions standard practices.
 
Responsibilities
  • Review customer and internal prints and determine ability to fabricate and meet tolerances.
  • Develop work processes for new and existing products.
  • Review work processes to improve pricing structure and tact time.
  • Research new processes, software or tooling that will improve the company’s efficiency.
  • Work in a team environment to develop quotes on potential new product.
  • Interact with customer engineers and outsourcing agents.
  • Work with quality to find solutions when fabrication, forming, welding or machine processing is producing parts out of spec.

  • Employee must sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Employee must be able to read, see, hear, and speak English.
  • Position requires limited physical exertion. Incumbent will rarely be required to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds, and larger amounts with assistance.
  • The work location includes a warehouse and fabrication shop setting, which will expose the employee to dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and loud noises.
  • Employee must wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) including gloves, safety glasses, ear protection and steel-toed boots, and any other PPE as required in the production area. PPE will be provided by the company with the exception of steel-toed boots.
  • Employee will give full attention to all tasks.
  • Employee will follow all safety policies/practices/guidelines and will ensure all safety requirements are met or exceeded when performing all tasks.
  • Employee will work to identify hazards and unusual circumstances and will assist in the continual improvement of safety practices and procedures.
  • Employee will participate in safety training programs.
  • Employee will ask questions, share and apply learning.
  • Employee will request help (if needed) to do all work safely.

Job Requirements

Education: Degree in related field or 5 plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other abilities:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures, amounts and build formulas. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, trigonometry and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in a written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to prioritize within a fast-paced environment.
