Description

We are currently looking for a Forklift Driver.  In this role, the Forklift driver is expected to be fully trained and certified as able to operate a forklift in a safe, effective and efficient manner. Main responsibilities include operating powered industrial forklifts to load and unload materials and deliveries and move them to and from storage areas, machines and loading docks, into trucks or storage facilities.  We offer an excellent Total Rewards package, including medical insurance, dental and vision, paid vacation, paid holidays, quarterly incentive opportunities, and much more.

Responsibilities:

  • Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves.
  • Prepares material, loads, unloads and moves within or near plant, yard, or worksite
  • Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area.
  • Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials.
  • Operates power hoist, cleans work area, machines, and equipment to assist machine operators.
  • Assembles crates to contain materials for shipping.
  • Shovels loose materials into machine hoppers and scrap containers.
  • Operates industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
  • Will be required to bend at the waist, squat, kneel and twist at the waist/torso utilizing shoulders, arms and hands to perform tasks during the work day.
  • Will be required to twist neck..
  • Will be required to have 20/20 vision (corrected).
  • Will be required in periods of heat or cold.

Safety Requirements:

  • Employee will give full attention to all tasks
  • Employee will follow all safety policies/practices/guidelines and will enure all safety requirements are met or exceeded when performing all tasks
  • Employee will work to identify hazards and unusual circumstances and will assist in the continual improvement of safety practices and procedures
  • Employee will participate in safety training programs
  • Employee will ask questions, share and apply learning
  • Employee will request help (if needed) to do all work safely

Personal Protection Equipment (As required in production area):

  • Must wear safety glasses with side shields (ANSI Z87.1-1989.) 
  • Must wear steel-toed safety shoes (ANSI Z41-1991.)
  • Must wear hearing protection
  • Must wear hard hat
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One (1) to three (3) months related experience
  • Ability to read an comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to effectively communicate
  • Must obtain forklift license through Miller Fabrication Solutions
