We are seeking a passionate, qualified Plant Manager for our Homer City, PA location. This position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the manufacturing plant, ensuring that production processes run smoothly, efficiently, and safely. This role involves managing staff, optimizing production processes, maintaining quality standards, and meeting production targets. The Plant Manager will also be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to improve productivity and efficiency while maintaining a focus on safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee execution and delivery of entire production process, ensuring that production goals and targets are met and within budget while maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Lead, coach and mentor plant staff, including supervisors and production employees. Conduct performance appraisals; reward and discipline employees; address employee concerns and work to resolve problems.
  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing methodologies to drive operational excellence.
  • Assesses equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
  • Develop and manage the plant budget, including forecasting and controlling costs.
  • Working knowledge of engineering standard practices that include drawing layout and GD&T. Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to address product and process issues.
  • Assures product and process quality and participates in the resolution of quality issues.
  • Assists new product and/or process startups. This includes pre-planning for assembly fixtures/templates, creating CAD models/drawings, machine setups and programs.
  • Develop and implement short-term and long-term operational strategies to support the company’s goals.
  • Ability to make complex and effective decisions within a very narrow timeframe.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to take ownership for wide-ranging responsibilities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management or related field; or three plus years of related experience and/or training; or relevant combination of education and experience.

Experience:

  • Three or more years of proven experience in a leadership role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and safety regulations.
  • Proven experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.

Other abilities:

  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with manufacturing software (i.e. ERP systems)
