The on-going growth and dynamic nature of Miller Fabrication Solutions may require this job description to change. Changes in the job description will be at the sole discretion of management. This description is intended as an outline of the principal duties of the position; other duties may be assigned to further the interest of Miller Fabrication Solutions.

 

A major portion of this position (at least 50% of the job) requires the individual to maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that the individual gets along with customers, clients, co-workers and management.

 

Function: Supports the needs of the user/business providing technical support for the Information Systems department, such as coding, designing, implementing, debugging programs, user support and backup support of the IT network. This position will primarily be based in Homer City, with expected travel to Brookville headquarters around once per week.

 

  • Recommends improved operational procedures to maximize systems efficiency; provides guidance to solving complex operations malfunctions and performs telecommunications troubleshooting
  • Ensures system integrity, assists in installation of technological upgrades
  • Provide best practice recommendations throughout project lifecycles
  • Provide backup support for the computer network, computers, peripheral equipment and communications equipment as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

Job Requirements:

 

Education: High School Diploma, Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field preferred.

 

Experience:

  • Programming experience in a manufacturing environment optimal but not necessary.
  • Experience or knowledge of database structures and SQL
  • Programming experience with languages similar to Visual Basic or familiarity with control structures and language features present in modern programming languages.
  • Knowledge or ability to work in a citrix/windows based environment utilizing both physical and virtual servers.
  • Knowledge of cloud based technologies

Designs systems, programs and coordinates the testing of projects.

  2. Communicates and collaborates effectively with users of Information Systems services
  3. Ensure that all hardware and software are up to date to latest patch releases;
  4. Ensure ERP system administration utilities are carried out according to departmental plan;
  5. Keep record and maintain company assets related to information technology;
  6. Work with suppliers where appropriate to ensure system is functioning as needed.

3.

Coordinates all aspects of testing, implementation, training and documentation to support new programs/system

  2. Executes assigned project tasks within established schedule on time with quality
  3. Manage new hardware, software or other technology deployments from start to finish ensuring error-free and timely completion;
  4. Organize kick-off meetings with relevant personnel;
  5. Facilitate training sessions to ensure each user receives adequate training;
  6. Work with suppliers as needed throughout the deployment;
  7. Clearly and adequately communicate project status to relevant personnel within the company throughout the deployment process.

Assists ITs staff in the setup, testing and support of intricate hardware installations
