This description is intended as an outline of the principal duties of the position; other duties may be assigned to further the interest of Miller Fabrication Solutions.

 

A major portion of this position (at least 50% of the job) requires the individual to maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that the individual gets along with customers, clients, co-workers and management.

 

Function: Serve as a primary point of contact for users in the area of technology. Provide technical advice and support to maintain technology systems and to help people use computer software and hardware in an effective manner. After training is complete, the primary location for this position will be at the Homer City, PA facility with the need to travel at times to the main facilities in Brookville, PA.

 

Job Requirements:

Education: B.S. in Computer Science, Information Science, or related field

Experience: 2 – 5 years minimum experience in manufacturing, technology or related fields preferred.

Other abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with limited supervision
  • Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds
  • Flexibility in working hours as required
  • Extensive knowledge of software applications such as MS Windows, MS Office, Office 365, MS SQL and ERP
  • Deep knowledge of best practices with respect to hardware, networking, etc.
  • Knowledge or ability to work in a Citrix/VMware/windows based environment utilizing both physical and virtual servers.
  • Working knowledge of MS Exchange of MS Active Directory preferred
  • Knowledge of cloud based technologies - AWS

  1. Ensure that all hardware and software are up to date to latest patch releases;
  2. Keep record and maintain company assets related to information technology;
  3. Work with suppliers where appropriate to ensure system is functioning as needed.

Project management

  1. Manage new hardware, software or other technology deployments from start to finish ensuring error-free and timely completion;
  2. Organize kick-off meetings with relevant personnel;
  3. Facilitate training sessions to ensure each user receives adequate training;
  4. Work with suppliers as needed throughout the deployment;
  5. Clearly and adequately communicate project status to relevant personnel within the company throughout the deployment process.

  1. Assist in developing short and long term strategies to reduce cost and improve system reliability;
  2. Evaluate strengths and weaknesses of technology systems when comparted to systems available in the market;
  3. Assist in selection of solutions providers.
