Job Summary

This position serves as a primary point of contact for users in the area of technology. This position may be involved with ERP, system configuration, analysis of systems, recommending network equipment, and maintain cyber security measures.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Maintaining and continuously improving the Company’s information technology systems and networks, providing training and technical support.
  • Safeguards the integrity of the Company's business network and data from cybersecurity risks, threats, and vulnerabilities, including monitoring, detecting, investigating, analyzing, and responding to unusual activities and security incidents.
  • Establishing systems for updating software applications and operating systems, handling installations and configuring software and hardware.
  • Identifies, diagnoses, troubleshoots, creates solutions, and resolves equipment, hardware, network, system, and software issues and organizational processes.
  • Compiles performance data, learns and applies new technologies, reports on trends, provides recommendations on potential improvements, and communicates with end users, partners, and vendors.
  • Evaluate strengths and weaknesses of technology systems when compared to systems available in the market.
  • Performs and monitors system backups; performs maintenance and data restoration.
  • Ensure all hardware and software are up to date to the latest patch releases.
  • Keep record and maintain company assets related to information technology.
  • Manage new hardware, software or other technology deployments from start to finish ensuring error-free and timely completion.
  • Be involved in developing short- and long-term strategies to reduce cost and improve system reliability.
  • Be involved in selection of solution providers.
  • Promptly resolve user tickets and achieve departmental goals regarding ticket resolution.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Safety Requirements & Physical Demands

  • Employee must sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Employee must be able to read, see, hear, and speak English.
  • Employee will be required to use a computer with keyboard, telephone or handheld mobile device for extended periods of time, and office machinery as needed.
  • Employee may occasionally be required to lift, push, pull, and carry up to fifteen (15) pounds.
  • Employee will give full attention to all tasks.
  • Employee must wear PPE as required when in production area.
  • Employee will follow all safety policies/practices/guidelines and will ensure all safety requirements are met or exceeded when performing all tasks.
  • Employee will work to identify hazards and unusual circumstances and will assist in the continual improvement of safety practices and procedures.
  • Employee will participate in safety training programs.
  • Employee will ask questions, share and apply learning.
  • Employee will request help (if needed) to do all work safely.

 

Job Requirements

Education: Bachelors’ Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or related field.

Experience: 2 - 5 years’ experience in Information Technology or related fields preferred.

  • Extensive knowledge of software applications such as MS Windows, MS Office, Office 365, MS SQL and ERP.
  • Deep knowledge of best practices with respect to hardware, networking, etc.
  • Knowledge or ability to work in a Citrix/VMware/windows-based environment utilizing both physical and virtual servers.
  • Working knowledge of MS Exchange of MS Active Directory preferred.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based technologies – AWS.
